On Sunday October 11, Birmingham will act as host city for the 2009 World Half Marathon championships.
Along with my son Tom, I will be taking part in the event and plodding the 13.1 miles (that’s about 21 kilometres to most of you) around the streets of Birmingham, including Oakfield Road near to Wesley International House.
It would be great if anybody felt able to sponsor Tom and myself in our effort. All monies raised will go towards improving facilities at Asbury Overseas House and Wesley International House and residents will have a say in how any monies raised are spent.
If any of you would prefer to race the event rather than watch it, it’s not too late to enter. September 11 is the closing date for entries and you can apply online by visiting www.birminghamhalfmarathon.com

Why not enter and raise money for BISH yourself by inviting friends, families and colleagues to sponsor you?
Thanks!
